Privacy Policy

    This policy explains how EastWest Zodiac ("we", "us") processes personal data when you use www.eastwestzodiac.com. We process data in accordance with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

    Data controller

    EastWest Zodiac is the data controller. Contact us about privacy at info@eastwestzodiac.com.

    What we collect and why

    • Birth dates you enter in our calculators — used only to calculate your signs in your browser session. If you are not signed in, they are not stored in an account.
    • Account data — if you create an account we store your email address, birth date, preferences, favorites and bookmarks so we can provide your profile (legal basis: contract, Art. 6(1)(b)).
    • Contact form messages — your name, email and message, used to reply to you (legal basis: legitimate interest, Art. 6(1)(f)).
    • Analytics — only with your consent (Art. 6(1)(a)), see below.

    Google Analytics 4 and cookies

    We use Google Analytics 4 (Google Ireland Ltd.) to understand how visitors use the site. We use Google Consent Mode v2: until you click "Accept" in the cookie banner, no analytics cookies are set and no advertising features are used. If you accept, GA4 sets cookies such as _ga and _ga_* (up to 2 years) and processes pseudonymous usage data such as pages viewed, device and approximate location. Data may be transferred to Google LLC in the USA under the EU–US Data Privacy Framework.

    We also store your cookie choice in your browser's local storage, and signed-in users have a session token in local storage. These are strictly necessary and do not require consent.

    Authentication and hosting

    Sign-in and account data are handled by Supabase (Supabase Inc.), our authentication and database provider, acting as our data processor. Data is stored on servers in the EU/EEA where available; any transfers outside the EEA are protected by Standard Contractual Clauses.

    How long we keep data

    Account data is kept until you delete your account or ask us to delete it. Contact messages are deleted when no longer needed, at the latest after 24 months. Analytics data is retained for 14 months.

    Your rights

    You have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict or port your data, to object to processing, and to withdraw consent at any time. Email info@eastwestzodiac.com and we will respond within 30 days. You may also complain to your local data protection authority (in Norway: Datatilsynet).

    Changes

    We may update this policy. The date at the top shows the latest revision.
